Cabin RentalsNature Center Member Price:
Maximum # of persons allowed: 8. No tent camping is allowed near the cabin. Staying at the cabin is similar to camping. This is a backcountry, rustic experience. The cabin is checked regularly, but not daily by volunteers of the non-profit Friends group. Please pack out EVERYTHING you bring in and leave a clean site so that the next user has a pleasant experience. ![]() DescriptionSleeps 8 persons on wooden sleeping platforms. Cabin includes wood stove and firewood (stacked in woodshed a short walk from the cabin); table; benches; bear proof food storage locker; and porch. A latrine is located a short distance from the cabin. Nearby water source is available (freshwater pond), but the water should be purified before drinking. You will need to split your own kindling to start a fire. We suggest bringing a small axe in the event the one provided is not there (unfortunately this happens at times). Please note that on extremely cold winter days, the cabin may take up to 4 hours to warm up. We suggest you start a fire and go for a walk while the cabin heats up. Location and AccessApproximately 1.25 miles from the Nature Center along the Iditarod Trail, past Four Corners (intersection of Albert Loop and Iditarod Trails) to rock fall area next to freshwater pond. The cabin is accessible by foot year round. No bicycles or motorized vehicles are allowed. Strollers and sleds are allowed. The cabin is secured by a lock on the door and is accessible only by permit holders with a valid number. This number is the combination to the lock and your only access into the cabin. Please take along this receipt and remember your number. This number is regularly changed for security. Reservation Policies
POLICIES: 1. It is unlawful to use the cabin without a paid reservation/permit.
