General Audience Program

General Audience Programs are educational programs designed for the general public to learn more about various topics pertaining to Alaska’s natural environment. Topics vary widely, and are presented by staff or naturalist docents. These programs are generally offered at 2pm on Sundays, lasting 1-2 hours. Most programs are free ($5 parking for non-members), open to walk-ins and generally do not require pre-registration.

Programs are primarily geared toward adults, although some programs may be well-suited for children above the elementary school level. Most of our programs involve walking on trails. See Calendar for current offerings, and feel free to call with further questions.

Registration is required for all guided hikes that are longer than an hour and go further than the Rodak Trail. This is to ensure a better experience for all involved by keeping the number of participants at a comfortable level, typically between 10-20.

When registering for a guided walk (by calling front desk at 694-2108), please provide names of all participants. Children old enough to walk do need to register (please provide ages). Leave a call-back phone #, and please do us the courtesy of letting us know if you end up not being able to attend, as there are usually people on a waiting list. We do not charge for these walks, but please consider supporting ERNC by making a donation ($3-5/person suggested).  Thank you.
