Recreational Hikes

Recreational Hikes are led by Nature Center volunteers who are avid Alaskan outdoor enthusiasts. Group hikes are free ($5 parking for non-members), but require registration and are limited in number of participants. Participants may be beginners, but need to be in good shape for the particular type of hike offered. Hikes may vary from 3 miles for family-friendly hikes to longer hikes for adults that cover more than 10 miles in the backcountry. All participants will need to sign a liability release form prior to the hike, as well as disclose any health conditions that have a potential for being life-threatening, including but not limited to asthma, allergies, diabetes, and heart conditions. See Calendar for current offerings.
