Learn about Natural Dyes and create your own leaf-printed silk scarf with Naturalist Ute Olsson in this two-part "hybrid" workshop. After you
register, you will receive an email with details.
Part 1: View a pre-recorded online lecture, available June 6 & 7 only, outlining the basics of using natural dyes.
Part 2: Schedule your one-on-one 30 minute session on Sunday, June 7th between 10am and 4:30pm in the ERNC classroom yurt where
you will prepare your own silk scarf printed with fresh leaves (more details under "About this workshop").
If you are unable to physically come to the Nature Center, you can still register and get access to the online lecture and receive a pre-treated scarf through the mail with instructions on how to leaf-print at home.
Registration required. No refunds unless workshop is cancelled. Cost is $25/person and includes a silk scarf and an individual in-person session
on June 7th between 10am to 4:30pm.
Upon registration, you will receive an email to sign up for your individual session*. Please observe social distancing protocols and wear a mask. During
the 30 minute session you will prepare your silk scarf with leaves and roll them up in a bundle, as well as have your questions answered and view samples.
Bundle(s) will then need to be heat-treated, which takes about an hour -- you can choose to place your bundles in the pot at the classroom yurt while
you take a walk on Nature Center trails. Alternatively, you can take your bundle(s) home to heat-treat.
*Family/friend groups can sign up for their session together.
**Children (ages 10 and up) may register with a co-learning adult also registered in the class.
