Icy River Rampage Idemnity & Release and Registration
Riding a bicycle and participating in a group ride or race that traverses trails and frozen
bodies of water is a risky activity. These risks include the risks inherent in riding a bicycle on
trails and frozen river surfaces – potentially falling through the ice - traversing trails with
varying surfaces – weather – wildlife – trails users - other riders. You can fall, ride into open
water, be hit by a fellow rider, be attacked by a bear or moose, or be injured by a variety of
risks that exist in the world. By signing this Assumption of Risks & Release of Liability for
Negligence, I voluntarily assume all risk of death, physical or mental injury, or property
damage associated with my participation in this ride or race.
By agreeing to participate in this ride or race, I ALSO voluntarily accept the risk that the
organizers may be NEGLIGENT in their performance of their duties associated with putting on
a group ride or rice. This negligence is beyond the inherent risks of Anchorage/Eagle River
bicycle riding or group rides/races. This risk is the reality that the organizers do not claim to be
perfect nor able to anticipate all dangers or risks that may befall participants. Organizers may
make a mistake and that mistake may result in injury or death. In consideration of being
allowed to participate in this ride or race I accept the risk that I may be killed or injured and
waive any right to sue Trek Bicycle Store for Anchorage, Friends of Eagle River Nature
Center, Chugach State Park their owners or employees for any negligence on their part.
In plain and simple language: If you do not want to assume all of these risks and
forever release the Trek Bicycle Store of Anchorage, Friends of Eagle River Nature Center or
Chugach State Park, do not sign this document and do not participate in our group ride.
I am aware that this Release of Liability and Assumption of Risks is a binding contract
between me and the Trek Bicycle Store of Anchorage, Friends of Eagle River Nature Center and
Chugach State Park. I agree to this release on my own behalf and on behalf of my heirs and
