Weekly Trail Conditions for: Tuesday, 3/12/2024
Rodak Nature Trail: Packed/groomed. Grippers recommended.
Albert Loop Trail: Packed/groomed. Grippers may be useful.
*Fat tire bike access: November 15-March 31, fat tire bikes can use ONLY the lower Albert Loop trail to access the Eagle River corridor. All other trails are CLOSED to biking. See map link above for exact access route to the river.
Historic Iditarod Trail/Crow Pass Trail (Nature Center Trailhead to Echo Bend only): Snow machine packed to Yukla Yurt trail, boot packed to Echo Bend. Grippers may be useful. Good for hiking.
Dew Mound Trail: Trail may or may not be boot packed. Trail is NOT packed by snow machine. Snowshoes/grippers may be helpful. Please note that the Dew Mound trail is skinnier, rootier and rockier than our other trails.
Rapids Cutoff Trail: Not packed by snow machine, may or may not be boot packed.
Mountain Meadow Cutoff Trail: Not packed by snow machine.

Dog owners: Please remember to keep your dog(s) on a leash on the Rodak Trail, Albert Loop Trail and first mile of the Dew Mound and Iditarod Trail. Please be responsible trail users and pickup after your dogs. Bags are available at the trail head sign at the ERNC.
Crow Pass Trail - 11/10/2023: Hiking on the Girdwood side not recommended during the winter months due to trail crossing avalanche terrain. Also, the last mile of road to the Girdwood trailhead is not maintained/plowed in the winter. To get an idea of how much snow might be in Crow Pass, check out the Alyeska Mountain Report & Webcams.
